Vanella - bar del gelato

We stumbled upon this gelato spot during our time in Vienna and ended up really enjoying it. The place has a very familiar, welcoming feel — the kind of spot where you immediately feel comfortable staying a while rather than just grabbing something to go. There are plenty of good seating options both inside and outside, which makes it easy to relax and enjoy your ice cream at your own pace. We tried the pistachio, amarena, and hazelnut flavors, and all three were excellent. The pistachio tasted natural and not overly sweet, the amarena had a nice balance between fruity and creamy, and the hazelnut was rich without feeling heavy. Overall, it’s a simple but very well-done gelato place that we’d happily return to.

Best pistachio ice cream i have ever had. Second best is passionfruit with white chocolate. I can only give three stars though because the portions you get are gradually getting smaller. Our last visit was extremely disappointing. A small cone with two portions wasnt even a full scoop. We were asked to name both kinds of ice cream before the dealer started to serve, so they could give us more of the cheaper one. I honestly dont know if im too frustrated by their stingyness already, but thats just the way i feel. I was there about once every two weeks, but their shrinkflation lets me seek out other icecream salons from now on.

A pretty good ice cream spot in the 9th district. You can tell it’s made with natural ingredients, though it was a bit too sweet for our taste🫣

Possibly one of my favourite ice cream makers in Vienna! The staff is always friendly and they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! Their ice cream is really great and they even have sugar free options and a sugar free cone!

Good Eis. I chose bitterschokolade and zitrone which I think they are a perfect match. Schokolade is good as always with small chocolate bites. Zitrone is a kind of favor I have never tried fruity favor ice before. But it is as good as I could possibly imagine for lemon, very refreshing indeed for summer! I am glad I tried it. And plus the staff is patient and polite. Price ratio is reasonable too. 💶3.3 for two scoops.
