Lovely place to stop after your visit. Busy? crowded? ABSOLUTELY! But this should be expected! I mean how often do you eat under stupendous chandeliers, surrounded by original oils?!!! The staff were so very kind, luckily I had zero wait for a table for just me. Staff were so accommodating and suggestions were spot on!
With Goulash beef soup, the two dominant flavours are - spicy and very salty. Disappointed. Kaiserliche Sausemmel - pulled pork, pork belly, with honey mustard dressing, muscat cabbage & picked gherkis - the combinations works very well. The cafe is at side to main building, the entrance is at the back. Service is quick; atmosphere is relaxing. Limited seating so might need to wait during lunch hour.
Avoid this cafe, because the experience couldn't be worse. The place was crowded and no staff was responsible for managing the chaos. The cake was definitely overpriced for what it offered, it tasted just exactly like the frozen cake you can buy in Mark and Spenser. Worst of all - the waiter dared to ask for tips given his obnoxious attitude.
A super cozy coffee shop, perfect for breakfast. The breakfast is amazing! We had eggs and bacon, and it was exactly what we needed that morning. The coffee is excellent, too. It’s a perfect spot to start your day before heading to the museums. I highly recommend going there first and enjoying a relaxing breakfast, then heading to your ticketed museum visit. Of course, you can also go after the museum, both ways work. The food is really good, and the service is perfect. The staff are super friendly, and attentive. If you haven’t eaten yet and need a good breakfast, this is definitely the place to go. I highly recommend it!
Cafe in a small but beautiful dinning room at one end of the palace. Chandeliers & large portraits set the scene. We actually didn't have high hopes for the food & drink as people surely stop here for the ambience, but... surprisingly nice strudel & coffee. Yes, expensive, but there are worse places in Vienna and they don't have this atmosphere.
