I visited this café and experienced an openly racist remark from a staff member. The server first thanked us in Chinese (“xiexie”). We politely replied that we are Korean. The server then said “arigato” (Japanese). When I calmly explained that “thank you” in Korean is “gamsahamnida,” the server responded along the lines of “you all look the same so I can’t tell the difference.” In a venue that welcomes international visitors every day, a simple mistake can happen—but doubling down after being corrected, and making a demeaning comment, is clearly discriminatory. I expect an official apology from the café/management and proper staff training on respect, diversity, and anti-racism.
This is busy cafe. We were seated quickly and the coffees came quickly. The staff were super patient with a few impatient queue jumpers!
We waited 15 minutes for a coke and a "special" Coffe and the place was not too busy. I refused to order an espresso because it was really expensive, especially the double. And when we ask for the bill they forced us to pay the tip on top of a robbery. I've also asked the waiter if we were forced to give the tip and he said, yes with no shame. No wonder why the place wasn't busy
The food is okay but overpriced (a bottle of water was 8 euro), the location is for obvious reasons amazing and the staff is welcoming and attentive. I wouldn’t recommend having an actual meal here (if not a soup), but rather a snack… the cakes all looked amazing! We personally got the Klimt cake which was very good :)
The food there isn’t the best. The deserts, coffee and teas are somewhat good and nothing really special. Unfortunately, the cakes come in frozen and we didn’t get the try the one we wanted since we had to wait at least an hour for it to defrost. Other than that the service and staff is super nice. You can pay in cash or with card 👍🏻
