Le Troquet

I’ve been a customer for years, but today’s experience was the last straw. The bartender (who I believe is the owner) was completely drunk and couldn’t remember what we ordered. I asked for a Moscow Mule, advertised on several tables as the drink of the week for €7.50, but got something with barely any ginger beer and gin instead of vodka. The music was ridiculously loud for a bar—I had to wear earplugs just to finish my drink. When we went to pay, the owner stepped outside to smoke and left us waiting. We asked to pay five times, and finally, after chatting with his friends, he gave us a bill where we were charged €9.50 for the Moscow Mule instead of €7.50. When I asked about the price difference, he mumbled something about the €7.50 deal only applying on Saturdays, which wasn’t mentioned anywhere. It’s unacceptable to treat customers like this—lying about prices, having only one drunk bartender working, and making us wait forever to pay. Never coming back. SCAM

Fantastic bar. I was in Austria on business and walked around the whole city and this place made me feel like family. Staff and was very friendly and the beer was delicious. Highly recommend this place. As the night progressed this place turned into a very hot bar. Go here!

Really nice with a group of friends or a date. It gets packed on the weekends and is quite loud but a great atmosphere none the less. The house red wine is excellent. Make a reservation.

Small menu of good French-styled food. Menu is German or French only. The hostess will try to translate. Best to bring a translator app if you can't read either. Would not go out of the way to eat here, but good if you are in the neighborhood. No non-smoking section.

Crowded place with a special charm. Really good after-work bar/restaurant with a small menu. Thursday is mussels day so make sure to reserve including the mussels, they are a great choice. Strict non-smokers shouldn't visit this place.
