Intimate & relaxed Gallic venue for breakfast, coffee, cake, sandwiches & light meals, plus terrace....
This is the most ridiculous and tiniest coffee cup I’ve ever seen. They expect you to drink coffee from a tiny, handle-less soup bowl, and it costs €5. I’ve been all over France and never seen a coffee presentation like this. I wonder where this place in Vienna, which calls itself a French café, came up with this idea. I even asked the waiter if they had a normal cup, and he gave a ridiculous answer like, “This is our normal cup.” Of course, after that response, he didn’t get a tip from anyone at the table. 😅
A wonderful little French restaurant with a truly cozy atmosphere. The food was absolutely excellent. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast there, and the service was very friendly and attentive, making us feel genuinely welcome. A perfect place for a relaxed and enjoyable start of the day. Highly recommended!
Good lord this place was horrible. First off - Cash Only 🚩🚩🚩 This place was pretentious as hell, and yet with the quality of the drinks and time it took to be served it had no right to be. Apparently I have to make my own "Hot" chocolate for €6.70. Essentially, I was given a cold bowl of frothy milk and there is a seperate chocolate bar you are meant to put inside to melt and stir. The problem being that the cup was cold by the time it got to me that it didn't melt into the drink 😂. So I had random chunks of chocolate pieces in cold milk. What a joke. My friend ordered an Espresso but ended up with a weak Cappuccino instead. The food itself was okay, it wasn't anything to write home about but I would avoid this place at all costs.
The reason I leave a negative review here is exclusively the serving size of cappuccino! I had been to "Le Bol" 1.5 year ago and the cappuccino size, aside from the ridiculous idea of serving it in a bowl, was the average expected size you get in most coffee shops. Yesterday, I visited again, only to discover that the cappuccino has been reduced to a shot that costs 5.10€!!! And it is certainly not exceptional coffee to justify that price for that size! Not to mention that the serving in a bowl remains. I feel almost offended that they think they can charge whatever they want and I regret that I did not refuse to accept this coffee sample they gave me. I feel cheated and disrespected and I am never going there again. Also, I suggest they use cups; we get it "Le Bol", let's serve everything in bowls, haha... NO! It is impractical and ridiculous! The atmosphere is fine, nothing super special though. The service is also ok, not friendly, not unfriendly, nothing special. To me it is an overhyped shop anyway, but after yesterday I do not plan to ever set foot in there again.
A cozy Parisian café with a large communal table that’s perfect for sharing, casual meetings, or relaxed catch-ups. The soups are flavorful and comforting, and the sandwiches are fresh, well-balanced, and satisfying. Remember that they only accept cash!
