Refined venue for cakes, pastries, specialty teas & coffees, plus homemade ice cream in summer....
A very pleasant place (just avoid the tables at the far end near the kitchen). And the waitress Ivanka is simply wonderful! Prices are above average, but the location is central and touristy, so the pricing is understandable overall. The coffee is delicious. The downside is the restroom: there is only one stall in the women’s bathroom, so the line gets long.
If you are looking for a traditional continental breakfast this place is good. The choice is limited but tasty. We didn’t try any of the pastries so can’t comment, thou they did look delicious.
I recently visited Oberlaa and had one of the most delightful pastry experiences in Vienna. Everything we tried was truly exceptional, but a few items completely stole the show. The passion fruit chocolate tartolette was on another level — the balance between the rich chocolate and the refreshing tartness of the passion fruit was simply perfect. I could taste the craftsmanship in every bite. I also ordered the Apfelstreussel, which was warm, comforting, and full of authentic flavor. The texture was spot-on: soft apples inside with the ideal amount of crispy streusel on top. And of course, the éclair was absolutely outstanding. Light, elegant, and filled with a cream that was silky and delicious. Beyond the pastries themselves, I was honestly impressed by the overall quality of the place. Oberlaa’s desserts feel refined yet approachable, and everything looks as beautiful as it tastes. The service was another highlight — attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. It’s rare to find a place where both the product and the experience are equally strong, but Oberlaa manages this effortlessly. I left feeling completely satisfied and already excited to return. For anyone who loves high-quality pastries, this spot is truly a must-visit.
I liked the desserts – great variety and excellent quality. Beautiful presentation. The omelet was disappointing – so salty it was almost impossible to eat. The coffee was far from ideal. Drinkable, but not really enjoyable. The interior is pleasant. Service – 3 out of 5.
Terrible desserts, very bland flavoured. Average cappuccino made from powder coffee machine. 100% overpriced, the only failure of our whole trip to Vienna.
