Kaffee und Apartmenthaus Walch

Great coffee and pastries. If you want the vibes of a Kaffeehaus with the coffee of a coffee shop, this one is for you.

The apartment house Walch is a small, family-run Bed and Breakfast that exudes the old-fashioned charme oft he World of Yesterday. Although just a five minutes walk away from the bustling shopping street Mariahilfer Strasse, the Stumpergasse street, where the Walch is located, is relatively quiet. I did not hear any traffic noise in the apartment. The apartments are spacious, furnished with taste, and equipped with a small kitchenette. The breakfast included everything I wanted (and more) and is served in the Café Walch, which is located on the ground floor and is frequented also by regular guests that are not staying at the B&B. The interior of the Café is reminiscient of Old Vienna with ist dark, elegant furniture, and historic product advertisements on the walls. Mr. Walch, the owner, is usually found in the Café and is always happy to have a chat with his guests or give advice on what to do in Vienna. The small pub garden in the backyard is the ideal place to have a glass of beer or wine in the evening. The train station Westbahnhof (West Central) and the metro lines U3, U4 and U6 are close by, about 8 to 10 minutes walk each. Therefore, getting to the city center and other parts oft he city is very easy. I stayed at the Apartment house Walch four times over the last 10 years and have always been perfectly satisfied. If you enjoy the old-fashioned and cosy atmosphere of an authentically Viennese place the Walch is the ideal place. The price (80 Euro per person and night) is very reasonable considering what you will get.

Very nice appartments and very good service, this is way better than booking ordinary hotel rooms! I highly recommend a visit when going to Vienna!
