Very delicious pastries and cakes! Everything tastes fresh and high quality. The chocolate croissant is especially amazing - definitely the best one I’ve had. Highly recommended!
My favorite cafe in Wien, 75 years old and going strong! The waitstaff are friendly and greet you like a regular after you’ve been there a couple of times. Their vast variety of homemade cakes is wonderful, as are their semmel and sandwiches. They make all their own bread, as well as the spreads on the sandwiches. Their breakfasts are huge and delicious, too- the salmon is a standout. Their vibe is immaculate- I hope tourists never discover it.
Desserts are ok (although, a bit too sweet and heavy), but their coffee is terrible - similar to what you can get from a vending machine: burned aftertaste & no flavor. The waitress was pretty rude and just ignored any questions. To be honest, I haven't seen attitude like this for a long time.
Best bread ever since the day arrived Vienna. Cozy warm place. 70years of history store
There are some patisseries and cafes that are traditional. You can visit this neighborhood cafe, which is not in the center of Vienna, near the Ottakring brewery. You can taste different flavors of pastries, breakfast flavors and meringues at any time of the day. We tried chestnut cake and truffle cake in this cafe, which has been operating since 1955. Both were delicious. I recommend this neighborhood cafe, which you can visit without an appointment.
