American living 6 yrs in Vienna. Have made it a mission to seek out the best Viennese cafe experience: Café Göttlich & Freud is it! Modern yet reverent toward tradition, consistently great coffee without pretentiousness, equally apt for sitting alone and reading/working as for having a chat or discussion with friends. Bonus points: always tasteful music playing... sometimes even on vinyl 👌

Lovely cafe with great coffee! They are quite popular so we had to wait for a bit for a free table, but it was worth the wait! Cosy and friendly atmosphere - and hey, they even have Ferry Dusika chairs 😍

Cafe Göttlich & Freud is genuinely one of the loveliest cafes in Vienna. They have wonderful staff who are always friendly and eager to help, as well as really great food and drink options. The hot chocolate there is the best i’ve ever had. The atmosphere is calming, and good to focus in, ideal for students. It’s easy to reach and nicely decorated. I couldn’t recommend it more ! :)

I’d be here every single day! The coffee is excellent—smooth, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. You can tell they truly care about their craft and their customers. This place is a gem, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Adorable little cafe right next to the Freud Museum! This place is so cozy and has beautiful lighting, with magazines and newspapers to read at the front. I didn't want to go at first because I thought it would be overwhelmed with people, but I was so pleased to see that there was only one other couple inside when we went. It was quiet, with gentle music playing! The man who served us was so kind and brought the cappuccinos to our table with tiny little glasses of water. They have baked goods there too — the croissants looked amazing but I'm vegan so I stuck to the coffee. They serve plant-based milk — yay! And this was some of the best coffee I've ever tasted :-) It's such a sweet place. I hope to visit again next time I'm in Vienna.
