Great place to stop by for a quick coffee to go - I witnessed how passionate the staff is about the coffee. There was a gentleman asking way too many questions about the coffee - but they answered all of them - while the rest of the team served the other customers so everybody feels like valued customer. 👏 👏 👏 The only star down is that the matcha latte was just lukewarm and not warm which one would appreciate especially on the few snowy days in February. I will be back for fifth star! ⭐️ 👍
Bustling with locals enjoying their afternoons. This cafe offered a great variety of cakes and baked goods for your indulgent afternoon time. On the way to the toilets at the basement level, you can even peeked through their kitechen baking all the items on menu.
A few months ago, after three visits, I gave GOTA four stars. After three additional visits, I would now like to revise my rating. A venue that has won the award for Best Coffee in Europe (and 3rd worldwide) is expected to be exceptional, and GOTA truly lives up to that expectation. First, the coffee. For the regular menu, the beans come from Peru and produce a perfectly balanced and very pleasant espresso, with light fruity notes and a subtle hint of chocolate. It works especially well in milk-based drinks, particularly cappuccinos and lattes. As for the rotating selections, I highly recommend the Costa Rican beans (Perla Negra, very fruity) as well as the Colombian beans (Finca El Faldón, lightly roasted and ideal for a flat white). However, this place would not be as outstanding without its wonderful team, especially the baristas. There are five of them, all deeply passionate about coffee in every sense and highly skilled in latte art. I’ve had the opportunity to speak with them several times and genuinely enjoyed our conversations, being a coffee, and cappuccino enthusiast myself. The floor staff is equally welcoming, friendly, and efficient, despite the heavy customer flow between 10:00 and 14:00. Another highlight is the location: perfectly situated halfway between the city center and Schönbrunn, making it an ideal stop when I’m cycling across the city. GOTA fully deserves its recognition, and without question, five stars.
I’m not someone who really knows a lot about coffee, but I have to say the coffee here is incredibly good to drink. It’s no wonder it’s reputed to be the best in all of Europe, truly lives up to the name. I ordered a cup with floral notes, and you can genuinely taste the different flower aromas and the layers of flavor. Although the coffee is quite expensive, it definitely delivers an experience that’s completely different from other cafés. There aren’t really any proper main dishes, but just having the avocado toast felt really comfortable and satisfying. If you’re here for coffee, pairing it with a slice of cake is perfect. Though next time, I think I’ll go for the cheesecake.
Amazing cafe! My socks were knocked off by how good of an experience I had. The service was something to boast about, like a well oiled machine. They have a team that is friendly, helpful, attentive, and efficient. The coffee and food are so delicious and bursting with flavor. They have an impressive coffee menu with expansive knowledge on coffee roasting. They clearly put thought and effort into every part of this cafe. They even have hilariously large coffee cups as sinks in their bathrooms. This is for sure going on my list of favorites in Vienna.
