It is the right place to eat a real Viennese dessert. They had a very helpful and kind employee who welcomed me in my mother tongue ❤️ I hope I can come again 🫠
We waited a long time at the entrance, and despite many empty tables, no one guided or seated us, so we ended up waiting unnecessarily. That part was frustrating. However, the traditional Viennese cake we had was excellent—very delicious and definitely the highlight of the visit. In my opinion, the prices are quite high, and there is noticeable pressure to leave a tip, which was uncomfortable. Still, the quality and taste of the cake were very good.
I had Germknödel at the cafe and it was very very delicious. The staff that took me to the table was also very nice. However, I found hair on the Germknödel and I pointed this out to another staff after I finished eating it. The staff just got rid of it like nothing happened and did not even apologize. Although I pointed it out too late, I still think it is very important for the cafe to take responsibility by apologizing or doing something about it. I loved the Germknödel that I had but next time I had better eat it somewhere else.
This gorgeous café is quite popular and can get very busy, but it's worth the wait. I popped in for a little lunch break between sightseeing and absolutely loved the time spent here. Staff are very professional and friendly, service is super fast, and food was absolutely delicious. I tried a light broth-based soup and the Germknödel (a steamed sweet dumpling filled with plum compote and served in butter with poppy seeds on top) and had a number of drinks, all of which were served quickly. There was no rush to finish and leave, and the classic interior was a delight to lounge in.
I had a afternoon snack at this cafe: goulash and lemon and ginger tea. Atmosphere is very lively. Even I was there alone, I did not feel awkward. Goulash was ok. Not bad or good. Pot of tea was also ok. I liked the seating. It was comfortable and clean. Nice place to take a small break when you are museum hopping or strolling the city.
