Cafe Merkur

The atmosphere is very welcoming and bright and the staff were so friendly. I had just arrived in Vienna and was nervous about being a poor German speaker but they were very friendly and understanding and the waitress spoke English which was nice. The food was so good, ordered the Turkish breakfast which was fresh and favourite and came with amazing fresh, soft bread. Very positive start to my day and my trip. Will come back again before I leave Vienna.

Really good breakfast spot with a lot of options (breakfast and lunch)

We chose the Turkish breakfast and the Merkur vegan breakfast, and both were very delicious. Aside from that, the breakfast menu is quite varied. The staff are friendly. Perfect place for breakfast.

We had plans to dine at a nearby restaurant but they were packed and we were super hungry so ended up here. It was self seating and lots of available tables so we got seated comfortably. There was only one person doing everything so it was a few mins before we got attended. The menu is a mix of American, Mediterranean and mexican. We ordered crispy chicken burger, falafel hummus platter, shish kabob wrap and chicken fajitas. Food was very average tasting but came out freshly prepared. Burger tasted good and falafel was nice. The bread that came in the falafel platter was fluffy and tasty. Nothing was special about the taste of the items. There was arugula and salad leaves in pretty much every item which didnt make sense.

The place has a lovely cozy vibe and feels very local, with charming decor. They serve delicious Mediterranean food too! I really enjoyed the chai latte, and the falafel wrap was yummy.
