We stopped there for lunch while on holiday and the place is very cozy with an outside and inside area. The food was okay, not much choice for someone who is vegan so I ended up having the tomato soup which was served with rice. The service was not great. Not very friendly to us when we asked to order in English. Was expecting it to be different since it’s so close to the university quarters.
We had a delicious apple strudel and cheese strudel with vanilla sauce! The service was very friendly and the interior of the restaurant is very beautiful. It’s a nice spot after visiting either Votiv Church or the City Hall!
We found this place while walking around Rathaus. We didn’t have a reservation, but luckily they still had a table for us. The atmosphere was warm, and the staff were really welcoming. I ordered a burger that came with fries and salad. The burger was delicious, though a little on the oily side. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place.
A charming, well-appointed cafe/restaurant with a nice outdoor terrace area beneath a majestic arcade. Good coffee. Try the bacon and eggs! Excellent, friendly service.
The waiter was very friendly and took great care explaining the menu in English to us. He also made some jokes which pleased the teenagers in our company a lot. We had the pleasure to have dinner on the lovely terrace, situated under a stone archway. The adults enjoyed a spritz, while the children had some juice. The blankets offered are a nice touch for chilly evenings. The food was fine, but to be honest not really memorable. Café Votiv serves traditional Austrian cuisine with little frills. The prices are very reasonable. Would return, but rather for the atmosphere and the aperitif than the food.
