toast and berry friends smoothie, 13.10€: ham and cheese toast with ketchup was good and the smoothie tasted like it had only fruits (no ice which was good in the little cold weather). But the best thing was our server. He was amazing, really thoughtful and helpful. The menu was really extensive so overall I really recommend as the prices weren’t too bad as it’s next to the Stephansdom.
This was our first time in Vienna. While exploring this impressive city, my daughter wanted ice cream, so we chose Café de l'Europe. I'm so glad we did. I ordered the Fit Coupe, and it was simply amazing. Yogurt ice cream topped with strawberries, kiwi, raspberries, blueberries, and other fruits, along with raisins, nuts, and granola. I highly recommend trying this wonderful treat. We liked it so much that we wanted a second one. I'd also like to thank Mr. Yavuz Selim, who served our table. He was very polite and friendly. Despite the crowded atmosphere, he provided excellent service.
Café de l’Europe is the kind of Viennese café that knows exactly who it is and isn’t trying to reinvent itself for Instagram. This place has history in its walls, the sort that whispers rather than shouts. You sit down, and immediately you feel it. writers, thinkers, long conversations over cooling coffee. Proper old school Vienna. Now, let’s talk about the baking because that’s where the truth lives. The apple strudel is the star. Thin, disciplined layers of pastry, not clumsy, not rushed. The apples are soft but still have bite, warmly spiced, and then here’s the clincher it’s drowned (and I mean that lovingly) in hot vanilla cream sauce. Rich, fragrant, unapologetic. This is comfort done with confidence. No gimmicks. Just skill. The chocolate mousse cake is darker, more serious. Deep cocoa flavour, silky texture, not overly sweet. It’s restrained, elegant, and very much in tune with the café’s old world character. This isn’t a show off dessert, it’s a quietly excellent one. Service is brisk, the atmosphere a little formal, and yes, it can feel slightly aloof at times. But that’s part of the deal. You don’t come here for hand holding, you come for tradition done properly. Four stars. Solid, classic, and technically sound. A café that respects its past and delivers where it counts: on the plate.
We went there for Lunch. The food was really good. The fresh juice was actually fresh and not a scam as in some other places. The service even better. The atmosphere 10/10. We were lucky and also had a table with a perfect view. Will go back when I go to Vienna again.
Lovely, although a smoker, we chose to sit inside as I was cold, service was excellent, and although busy, our orders were taken quickly. Food was reasonably priced, and very tasty. Both decided to have a sundae after our main course, again, delicious, but too full to finish them, lovely atmosphere, great view (we sat upstairs) friendly staff.
