this is a must-try when in Prague. Skip unauthentic trdelnik and come here for some freshly baked traditional czech pastry. check for times of pastries being put out on their instagram.
This is probably the best bakery in Vinohrady for kolace, cakes, pastries, etc. The menu changes daily and the kolace are fantastic. I have tried some amazing items here. Staff are super friendly and speak English. Give them a try.
Our favorite koláče in Prague. The pastries were warm and freshly baked, and you can watch the chef baking them right in front of you. Definitely worth a stop.
The best kolače in Prague, I swear. It tastes divine even when it’s cold. But if you come to the place at 11:00, 13:00 you will get them WARM 🙂↕️🤌🏻 Just from the oven. But it will be the line there for sure, so you should come 20-30 minutes earlier, before the specified time. For exact time and days please check the Instagram page, they have updates on their stories every day. When we buy it, we buy 10-15 positions at once ☺️ Highly recommended!
I was told this is the best place to try koláče in Prague, and I’m not here to dispute it. I got both flavors of the pastry + a pistachio cinnamon bun. All three were delicious-sweet, of course! - but not overly so. The pastries are best fresh, of course- but they also held up well. These three pastries were my breakfast for two weeks: each morning I spent nibbling away at it them with a cup of black tea was a lovely morning-So, so, so, lovely! P.S.: My fellow Americans (you too, Brits) please try your best to learn a little bit of Czech - enough to point and order and say how you’re paying! There are staff who know English well, but being mindful of the line I would have picked up more of the language in advance so as not to hold it up. The staff was very polite and patient, but I was very aware of the line trailing out of the store hungrily awaiting these delicious treats & drooling behind me (ok, maybe I’m being dramatic, but the pastries are just THAT good!). Brings me to my next point - be prepared to wait in line- there’s a line from opening until they run out (and they do run out). I arrived a few minutes before opening and one had already formed! No worries, it moves quick (quicker if everyone knows what they want in advance 😉), and as you’ve already read, I think it’s worth the wait.
