Weekday mornings are the quietest
Okay, so first off — this place has major potential. Like, seriously. The vibe? Immaculate. It’s got that perfect mix of cozy and lowkey aesthetic — the kind of spot you’d expect to be packed with students, freelancers, and quiet book lovers. The location? Unreal. You’re a short walk from the Museum, Wenceslas Square, both the red and green metro lines, and Namesti Miru. Literally the dream triangle for anyone who wants to café-hop, people-watch, or just recharge between errands. But… here’s where it gets tricky. The consistency just isn’t quite there. There were some absolute gems working here — super kind and welcoming staff (shoutout to the young woman and the American guy who used to run the place like a dream). They spoke English and Czech fluently, made everyone feel welcome, and gave the café that extra warmth it needed. Unfortunately, they seem to have disappeared, and it kind of shows. Now, about the food — sometimes it’s there, sometimes it’s not. It’s a bit of a gamble. The menu can feel like a mystery box: exciting, but not always practical when you’re hungry. And when I asked about allergens, the answer was “yeah, it’s vegan,” which… isn’t technically helpful if you’re allergic to, say, nuts or soy. 😅 Not a huge deal, but details like that matter, especially for regulars. Then there’s the current barista. He’s friendly — like, very friendly — but maybe a little too chatty. Love the enthusiasm (Czech customer service isn’t exactly famous for it), but sometimes you just want to sip your coffee and enjoy the chill. Also, the music? Bro, this isn’t a nightclub. When the volume’s cranked up, it kills the very thing that makes this place special: the calm, thoughtful, library-meets-latte vibe. And the food situation — or lack thereof — is rough. I’ve stopped by multiple times to find empty displays or no food options at all. In a café like this, that’s a big miss. All that said, I want this spot to thrive. The partnership with the library space is brilliant, and the overall energy is genuinely great. With a bit more consistency in food, attention to allergen info, and awareness of the café’s chill atmosphere, this could easily be one of the best coffee-and-read spots in this side of town.
Best place . I come here regularly. The most important - it's quet here and nice. And very friendly personal and now laud music
Cozy place with a friendly young lady. Noce atmosphere and a lot of space to find yr favorite corner 😎. Loose tea available 🥳
not as good as kofárna on Újezd, but the coffee still slaps. It’s not very frequented here and the interior feels unfinished. Also why is there no pastry in the fridge? it’s literally just an empty fridge, weird.
+ nice staff + good coffee + entrance into an adjacent library + nice, normal place, one can take out a notebook
