They just lost regular customer! I completely understand that busy time can be overwhelming, but that should not be a space to be rude, angry and super unpolite to the customer who is visiting very often. I've ordered capuccino, they prepared flat white, very rude they claimed they repeated my order, I said I never ordered flat white in my life and probably because of the noise and long queue there was misunderstanding. I was trying to apologise (what for?!). They rolled they eyes, prepared correct order and the worst part is coming, they yelled loud, angry and slowly: O A T C A P U C C I NO, I felt so embarrased because all people around were looking at me, like I did a horrible thing? Mistakes happen on both sides, but the situation should be handled differently. I am thinking about it for two days now, feeling dissapointed and uncomfortable. I asked what is written on the invoice, so since it is flat white I said they charged me 10kc more, she took 10kc from the counter and smacked it on the table and said rudely HERE! I was so shocked, told them it is okay for them to keep it, and wished them a nice day. Wanted to run away as soon as possible.. world is bad enough, can't we just deal with tiny mistakes more gentle, instead of ruining someones day over a cup of coffee?!
Delicious latte and amazing Turkish eggs! I've never had eggs as delicious as these. Run, don't walk-or get a ride- to this unassuming but delightful cafe out in the *real* (business. Industrial, definitely not touristy) side of Prague. (Photo from area outside of cafe)
Top 3 best brunch spots in Prague! From the espresso, to the well made breakfasts. Delicious! We will be back!!!
A solid place. Its biggest upsides are great coffee and opening hours - Oliva is opened during Saturdays, which is rare in these parts and is most welcomed. I know where I’ll be drinking my weekend coffee. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, feels classic, even. The service was pleasant. The food selection is very modest - English breakfast, some yoghurts and pancakes. I went for the English breakfast - had to wait a little, but not too long. Big portion, looks nice, but the taste is just ok. It is not bad, but it is not great either. It could use some mushrooms and more sausage types maybe to spice it up. But I was full in the end and the price is fair, so can’t complain. The coffee however is awesome. One of the best ones I’ve tried in a while. One more thing, which I think can be improved, is the font used in the menu. It took me a moment to realise they are offering a vege version of english breakfast and not some other special type and only by reading the description I understood what it was about. Overall, it’s good and I wish Oliva success - we need nice cozy places in the area, especially the ones opened during weekends. With some improvements it can become awesome.
I often stop by on Saturdays for a flat white, espresso, and banana bread always tasty and fresh. The coffee is superb, and the lovely lady at the bar (always in stylish clothes with a beautiful smile) makes the visit even better.
