Best Hours for Work
Weekday mornings are the quietest
If you are looking for a place where you can work alone or just sit and read a book over a coffee or hang out with your friends, try this one out. They do have a small outdoor place for smokers 😉. Cheers!
Thought I went the wrong location at first, now I’m glad I ventured further. The front is a newsstand with books, card, souvenirs, etc. Past that is a cafe/bar where you can order. There is more seating in the back, past the restrooms, and even a small courtyard. The furniture had an eclectic, worn style that matches the paintings on the wall. The first visit was in the late morning, when my companion and I savored a yummy honey cake that reminded me of the one of the bests from Hanni’s in NYC. That is to say: it was rich, sweet, yet not overly so. If I was in a more indulgent mood I would have ordered another slice! I was very very very tempted!! The cake paired perfectly with the viet cappuccino and french press india bean - and we had the whole place to ourselves. We visited a second time during an evening, and by then the cafe was packeddddd with young adults yapping and vibing. Energetic socialization: a breath of fresh air for Americans used to cafes full of people on laptops hahaha (I’m talking abt myself LOL)- yet somehow there were still folks talking startup (lit). I will note that the teas disappointed me, but the coffees were some of the best I had in Prague- none of that saddening watered-down-with milk stuff that seems to be the default here. The staff was consistently polite and attentive :)
A very atmospheric place with books, postcards, delicious desserts and drinks. The setting feels like an old Art Nouveau apartment, with a charming inner courtyard. I bought a beautiful postcard of Prague here. The Ceylon tea and carrot cake are outstanding!
Very nice and homely atmosphere. Good hot chocolate and cakes. They even had a vegan cake (honey cake) on the menu. The staff didn't speak English but we could still manage.
Cozy place with a dark brown wood based decor. It's an very interesting mix of coffee place with books, bakery, proper food, alcohol and a seperate corner for kids too. We really liked hot chocolate and more so the Medovink pastry.
