Elegant coffee & pastry shop open since 1911 for breakfasts & sweet treats like croissants....
Unfortunately I faced a bad experience with stopping by Cafeteria Myšák. We ordered a cheesecake, sweet vanilla buns and two cappuccinos and payed 600 CZK. For some reason a cashier offered to me to leave some tips while paying, and here I didn’t understand for what, cause they hadn’t done anything yet. I consider it being a very bad concept to propose to the clients to leave any tips in advance… you don’t even know the way you will be served. Since the cheesecake was already cooked and waited on the showcase, it was brought to us pretty quickly with cappuccinos, but the coffee was barely warm. I ended my dessert while my husband was still waiting for his buns. His coffee got absolutely colder, but nobody still brought us that dessert. I just want to say thanks to a waiter because I explained her the situation and she apologised for the long wait and proposed to prepare free cappuccinos for us again. And again the fresh cups of coffee were barely warm. When they finally brought us the sweet buns, the meal looked a bit sloppy: a few buns floating in warm sweet milk. Looked more like soup but not like dessert. The cheesecake wasn’t good so fa by the way. I tasted much more better desserts in Prague. Sorry, but this place isn’t for me and I can’t recommend the cafeteria.
The pronunciation of 'Buchtičky Se Šodó' is so difficult😅 anyway I went there because I heard this place was the best. I really enjoyed the warm vanilla cream with vanilla bean (of course) and bread. I read the bad reviews and thought about the visit slightly, but I was very satisfied.
A very refined place, I love the contrast between the exterior façade and the interior. It is a historic venue that has retained its own identity. I ordered practically everything: the Větrník was an assault of sweetness, but if you have a small stomach, I recommend sharing it with someone; the sweet buns dipped in vanilla custard were a culinary journey. But the dish that sent me into ecstasy was the egg Benedict. Perfect. The prices are high, but it's worth it.
I never tried Veternik pastry and im so glad I did it for the first time here. The cream is amazing. I am not fan of sweets but this one was great. The coffee is also great. We had a small little table in the corner of the store. The service is very fast despite the huge crowds. The place is decorated in a fancy vibe spirit. There are also breakfast options and menu in English. The only downside is that this place is that good that influencers record videos of it and it loses the intimate ambience note. But its good for the business I guess.
My husband and I went there for a light breakfast and were quite impressed. Their system was a bit different for us, in that we needed to order and pay at the counter—but it was helpful to view the pastries when placing the order (and likely increase sales!), as it helped to set a less formal tone, than one would expect with the elegant ambience. The lattes, egg breakfast and apple pastry (I don’t recall the name) were quite tasty. I would return.
