Café u Kajetána

Café U Kajetána, tucked away on the beautiful Nerudova Street, is a great find for vegans. It’s a small outlet, clearly geared more towards takeaway, but step inside and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the variety of vegan trdelník options available. We tried the vegan cinnamon trdelník, and it was fresh, warm, and absolutely delicious. If you’re vegan and exploring this part of Prague, this place is definitely worth a stop.

Vegan - tried velvet temptation, wouldn’t recommend, the whipped cream wasn’t tasty, but the chimney cake was delicious, so I would recommend the basic traditional chimney cake that is vegan. Not vegan - salty caramel is good, but messy when eating. We didn’t try drinks. Only try vegan options, can be seen in the picture.

Important: they have ample seating inside and a garden area! This is hard to see or know from the entrance. Delightful place this is, very nice menus and teas, slightly high prices but it’s the area for that. Staff are friendly and nice but you have to know the upfront nature of the Czechs! They also have bathrooms. I tried numerous crepes, all of them were good, especially the pear walnut one. Service is super fast.

Vegan declared Trdelnik and a place to sit down to drink coffee? Of course we had to visit! It was a pleasurable experience as the staff was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food and drinks have been served quickly and it tasted good. The best experience was the home made lemonade, as it was aesthetically pleasing as well as super tasty. Would visit again!
