Café Golem

Worst place ever! Owner/bartender was extremely rude. He grabbed our bags and threw them away just because we took one extra chair. He behaved aggressively and insulted us. The food was very bad. Extremely bad experience! Don't goooo!!!!

Very bad experience. The service was horrible from start to finish. The guy who works there with glasses was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful !! I bought a water and asked for some napkins. Even though he clearly saw we were three people, he gave us only one single napkin. When we politely asked for a few more, he responded aggressively and unpleasantly, telling us we could go buy them somewhere else. His rude attitude made the whole experience uncomfortable. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

My two friends and I stumbled on this delightful café today and had a delicious meal of tomato soup and rye bread. The person waiting on us--who I assume is the owner-- also kept us entertained! We're sorry that we're leaving Prague tomorrow, otherwise we'd go back to try some of the other menu items and to enjoy more laughs.

Small cafeteria next to the old synagogue and in the same building as the Jewish museum. Good coffee, nice sweet pastries, also for takeaway. They also seem to sell light lunch such as soups, didn't try it myself, though. There are pictures on the wall connected to the history of the area and the golem legend.

This cafe became one of our favorite parts of our trip to Prague. Their pastries are delicious and we were blown away with how good the soups were. We highly recommend the hot chocolate and chai tea latte (which was the best we have ever had). The owner (Walter) was extremely hospitable and generous and helped to make our trip extra wonderful. He had great recommendations and provided us with memorable conversations. We are normally the kind of people who like to do a different cafe everyday but we loved Cafe Golem so much that we came back every morning after we first discovered it. Thank you Walter- for everything! We will definitely be coming back next time we are in Prague -Heidi and José
