My wife and I were visiting from the U.S. and I chose this restaurant specifically for their foie gras selections. I had never had foie gras before since it is difficult to find in the U.S. and it was incredible! I started with the pan seared foie gras which was perfectly cooked, over the top rich and creamy. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. It was so good that I ordered a second serving! I also had the slow cooked lamb shoulder with espelette pepper and my wife had the roasted scallops with truffle. For dessert we had the salted butter caramel french toast. Everything was amazing, one of the best meals I've had in my entire life! The service was also very welcoming and friendly. We were the last table in the restaurant but they did not make us feel rushed. I was also feeling a little awkward about ordering a second serving of the foie gras but they were glad to make it for me. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Very cute restaurant in the neighborhood we stayed in. The food was exceptional and high quality. The confit and veal were wonderful, and the beef and foie gras here redeemed Paris after a terrible experience near the Louvre. After the delicious mains, we had an amazing French Toast and ice cream combination that was one of the best desserts we had in Paris.
Unfortunately, the quality of the food didnβt justify the price. The restaurant felt a bit overhyped. Weβve had better foie gras before, and the one here had a very strong, gamey flavor. The salad and potato side dish was probably the highlight of this meal.
I went to Il Γ©tait une Oie dans le Sud-Ouest restaurant with a colleague, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences Iβve ever had in Paris. The foie gras (duck liver) was simply out of this world β both the seared and the half-cooked preparations were exceptionally tasty. The beef tartare and the goat cheese salad were equally delicious, full of flavor and balance. The environment was lovely, and the staff were friendly and helpful, which made the evening even more enjoyable. Without a doubt, this restaurant will stay on my list every time I return to the city. Highly recommended.
The foie gras is amazing. It impresses us and left such a strong aftertaste. I canβt say too much for it because there are no words can describe how amazing it is. In my own opinion it is the Michelin taste. For main course I would recommend the duck with blood ( french flavor is it) I have ordered which is shown in the pictureβ¦ I quite forgot the name. For Tartar it is satisfying but I wouldnβt recommend this for everyone. In general itβs a good place to experience the true taste of foie gras and the others. Something you should know: a reservation is preferred; You have to wait for 30-40 minutes to get your meal before you get meal ready. Hence I am assumed everything is fresh prepared, just be patient
