I have never seen a café decline like this. Loutsa used to be one of my favorite places in Paris for the great coffee, the warm atmosphere, and the genuinely good service. I came here about three times a week for over two years, sometimes with friends I introduced to the place because I loved it so much. Unfortunately, the experience today is unrecognizable. The environment has become tense and unfriendly, with customer service hitting a serious low. A policy that used to exist for years (allowing pastries from nearby shops) is now suddenly “forbidden,” and the new manager even claimed it was never allowed to begin with , which feels dishonest and unnecessary, especially said in such a strict tone. For a loyal customer who consistently spends money here, being spoken to like that is disappointing and frankly disrespectful. It’s not just the rules, the overall atmosphere has changed drastically. Constant staff turnover, interviews and internal feedback meetings between staff members and managers happening loudly at customer tables, staff leaving laptops and bags blocking seats… it creates a strange and uncomfortable vibe. It doesn’t feel like a welcoming café anymore. On top of that, the renovations have made the space worse: uncomfortable chairs, a table that regularly breaks, recurring power issues that sometimes stop them from even making iced drinks. And now customers have to pick up their own drinks , which would be fine if the attitude and hospitality made up for it, but it doesn’t. It’s genuinely a shame because the coffee itself is still excellent. But the service, ambiance, and respect for customers have deteriorated to the point where I’ve decided to stop coming. What was once a 5-star favorite has become a place I no longer recognize. I sincerely hope management takes this seriously and brings back the quality and spirit this café used to have.

If you’re tired of the macho hustle vibe of traditional Parisian cafes and want to be able to sit and read a book or work or just think deep thoughts, you cannot do better than this place. It’s warm and bright and peaceful and chill and you’ll never be hustled out at mealtime. The espresso drinks are excellent. Rich and full of flavor, not watery or insipid. Really, a wonderful spot.

If you are a coffee lover, you’ll love this place! I always look for specialty coffee and was really happy to find Loutsa. Their cappuccino is great, the staff was super friendly and they have seating both indoor and outdoor, and the outdoor is just great! I love that area
