During our recent visit to Brasserie Le Roi de Piquet, we were treated to an unforgettable evening that perfectly blended classic Parisian charm with top‑notch hospitality. Atmosphere & Interior Stepping inside feels like a delightful time‑travel to the 1950s. The décor rich wood paneling, vintage lighting fixtures, and retro upholstery creates a warm, nostalgic ambience that instantly transports you to a bygone era. It’s the kind of setting where you can imagine sipping a cocktail while listening to the soft murmur of a bustling Parisian night. Service The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, striking the ideal balance between professionalism and genuine warmth. They offered thoughtful recommendations, promptly refilled glasses, and made sure we felt welcomed throughout the night. Drinks Negroni: The highlight of the evening. Served in a perfectly sized glass, the Negroni was expertly balanced its bitter orange notes, aromatic gin, and sweet vermouth melded together flawlessly. It was both refreshing and robust, living up to the classic recipe while showcasing the bar’s skillful mixology. Wines: The wine list is thoughtfully curated, featuring a solid selection of French reds and whites. While we focused on the cocktails, the sommelier’s suggestions were spot‑on, promising a satisfying experience for wine enthusiasts as well. Outdoor Seating For those who prefer fresh air, the brasserie offers charming outdoor seats. Even in cooler evenings, the patio retains the intimate vibe of the interior, making it a versatile spot for any season. Overall Verdict If you’re looking for a memorable night out in Paris with expertly crafted drinks, a retro atmosphere, and superb service, Brasserie Le Roi de Piquet is the perfect choice. Top notch bar. The crew is really welcoming, especially Arno (I don’t know how to write it in French but what a lovely guy). We had a great times with my friends. The « amaretto shot » is a nice way to start a conversation afterward.
My wifes bavette was perfectly cooked. The shalot sauce was okay but a pepper corn or bernaise would have been better. Mine was shockingly bad. The escargot (a personal favourite) were inedible. Shrunken in to the shell and tiny. Impossible to remove for some if them. I came away with 3 whole ones from 6.very disappointing as I'd been looking forward to some on this trip. The tartare was very wet and sweet. Tasted like there was alot of ketchup in it. Creme brulee was okay but didn't have enough sugar on top. All eaten as we'd been travelling all day. Probably the worst meal I've ever had in 25 years of visiting Paris if not all of France Not even that acceptable bavette can save the rating
A thoroughly enjoyable lunch featuring simple yet high-quality flavours. The tuna steak was cooked to perfection and complemented by well-prepared vegetables. Excellent value at under €20—well worth it.
