Classic brasserie fare like steak frites & charcuterie plates in a plush, wood-paneled space....
Food was so yummy flavorful. Must try the risotto with mushroom and shrimp. Atmosphere and service was wonderful. Would recommend for a cozy meal.
I loved the vibe of this place. Not very touristy, lots of locals coming to drink and smoke. I had the duck confit, which was excellent. My wife had the cordon Bleu which she said was a tad dry, otherwise, decent. I strongly recommend this restaurant, even though it is a bit far from the main sights (ie eiffel tower, louvre, etc)
Le Rey is a solid spot if you just want to chill. Right off the main road, you get the energy of walkers, bikers, and passing cars, which makes for excellent people-watching without ever feeling overwhelming. We went for drinks β espresso martinis, an Americano, and a crΓ¨me brΓ»lΓ©e β and everything arrived promptly. Service was friendly, attentive, and didnβt rush us even though we stayed a while. By the time we left, the place had slowly filled up, but we never felt crowded or pressured. For a party of five looking to just enjoy drinks, conversation, and a relaxed afternoon in Paris, this hits the mark perfectly.
Perhaps my most enjoyable meal in Paris. Our server was friendly, almost charming. OK, he was charming , but that sounds almost too slick and artificial, and he was neither. I appreciated that at the end of a very tiring day. The mozzarella was so fresh and tasty, but oh that veal! It was superb. Best I've had since Mom was still feeding me many decades ago.
We came to this restaurant because it was recommended by our B&B and left very happy! It's quite a large place with plenty of seating. The service was very helpful and welcoming. We were welcomed in and our waiter tried very hard explaining everything to us in English even though he wasn't fluent. This isn't always the way with some places in Paris so we're very grateful. It was also nice that they had English translations on the menu but the specials were only in French. I had the roast chicken with fries which I thought was fine, the food came very quickly and presented well but unfortunately tasted a bit bland. The chips could've been a bit crispier too! For dessert I tried the cafe gourmand which was a taster of several desserts and a coffee. Our kind waiter also threw in a macaron for us to taste. Again it was presented very well but the taste was just average. I would certainly come back again and recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced meal. Although the taste wasn't exceptional I felt very well looked after and not at all alienated as a non-french speaker.
