Excellent utilitarian cafe. Coffee is very good for a quick stop. Staff is always nice to us, especially the older gentleman occasionally behind the bar. Client regulars are polite and give a βbonjourβ. Grab your newspaper, get your fix, and enjoy this no frills local establishment. It can be VERY noisy on the road, but thatβs not Murgerβs fault.
I went there to buy a drink. No one was manning the cash register. A man told me he didn't work there but that he could serve me. He served me, I asked to pay by card (β¬4). He entered the amount into the sports betting machine and said, "Go ahead and pay." I told him no, I wasn't going to pay his bet, and I asked where the bartender was. The answer was: he wasn't there. Okay, great!
A small PMU, perfect for having a quiet coffee on the terrace. The owner may seem cold at first, but is very welcoming and warm from the first words exchanged.
The space is very busy and noisy... But the queues are poorly defined to order a drink or go to the checkout for the gambling side, some don't even hesitate to cut in front of you... After asking for information, I had the impression of being looked down upon and almost snubbed for 30 seconds of information by one of the waitresses who nevertheless had time to greet several regulars of the place, yet I was very polite to ask her if they sold tobacco, in short... Politeness and courtesy need to be reviewed even if I understand that they are very busy ...
