The menu was promising the delivery, so so. The radishes were blent the promised smoked butter was just buttered it missed flavored. The ceasar salad was over salty the mackerel should have been cut smaller and flamed more Japanese style with brown sugar or teriyaki sauce. There it was big piece laid out. Dessert was ok but overall very pricey for the level of execution there is better at better value in the neighborhood.
We met a friend who was also visiting Paris for dinner at this cafe. She had noticed it a few times and loved the fun, local atmosphere, so she suggested we make a reservation. We were so glad we did! We were given a wonderful table in the quaint, cozy cafe and our waiter provided fantastic service. He helped us select our menu items, and everything we chose was not just delicious, but magnificent. The roasted aubergine with smoked Jerusalem artichoke sauce and the potato mille-feuille with trout roe were simply amazing. For dessert, we had cheese, of course, along with the sweet potato fondant with maple syrup whipped cream. What a culinary delight in the 17th arrondissement.
Great spot for lunch or dinner. Small menu but with amazing dishes
I loved the egg mayo on egg dish, which was super creamy and thick. The egg was cooked perfectly as well. I would say it's definitely an appetizer for two as most people would be full just eating that appetizer with bread. I thought I wouldn't be so I also got the potatoes pave (or fried dauphinoise potatoes) with cream and trout roe. That was really really good, because the crisp freshness of the roe when bit cut a saltiness against the cream which worked with the potato as cream always does. The green beans were also fantastically cooked; sometimes I forget you should undersalt green beans until the end because green beans work well with a pinch of salt at the end. I also had the tarama which was great with seed crackers, although I would have preferred with bread. I am giving this five stars even though I wouldn't say it blew me away. But the execution and simplicity were top-notch. That means you could have a 35€ dinner here that is splendid, simple, and hearty.
What a beautiful location! The design is art deco with mosaic decorations around large mirrors. The space is tight but feels big. We had eggs mayonnaise and pate first, both delicious. Then scallops and the sweet potatoes gnocchi (vegetarian). Very enjoyable and attentive staff.
