Weekday mornings are the quietest
So happy to find this café in a quaint passage in the 7th arrondisement. We visited mid-morning and we had no trouble finding a table. The atmosphere is bright, friendly, relaxing, and upscale. If it wasn’t so cold we would’ve opted to sit outdoors. They had a lot of specialty coffees and pastries on offer, and we noticed a number of people coming for lunch, but we preferred to have coffees and cakes. Since it was the Christmas season, PH Café were selling their mini yule logs (Buche). There’s a tiny “shop” in the corner where you can find a purchase their chocolates and macarons to take away. The cakes were a little too sweet for our liking, but we were glad we tried them. Be prepared to pay a hefty price (our bill was almost 50 euros for 2 cakes and 2 coffees), but hey, this is Pierre Herme afterall, and it was worth the splurge. Service was excellent – we were treated like VIPs, and everyone in the café kept smiling at us.
Delicious pastries and drinks but also a bit pricey.
Macaron lovers: Laduree or Pierre Herme. It is totally difficult to choose. However, I have to say that the service is lovely, the staff is really friendly and helpful. We impressed the matcha latte, cesar salad, and especially yoghurt and yuzu ice cream. Interesting and fresh taste.
Really nice place and good location. We went for a coffee and dessert. I ordered a latte, it was ok. We ordered the Tarte Paradis and a Paris Brest, gorgeous and delicious pastries.
To find this place, you’ll have to go in between the buildings and walk straight back. The cafe is behind a big statue of 3 tied up bears(?). I had the ispahan macaron and the chocolate macaron. Ispahan is delicious, slightly sweet with a light taste of rose and lychee. I also had the raspberry latte, 2000 feuille, and faubourg saint honore. My spouse had the chocolate drink. The raspberry latte had a nice smooth taste and the chocolate drink was thick and rich. The faubourg saint honore was the show stealer with a light vanilla cream and a praline layer inside with cake. The 2000 feuille was disappointing, with its praline flavor and “caramilzed crust”. It actually had a bit of a dark and burnt flavor and I didn’t enjoy it. While the 2000 feuille may have taken away a half star, I think all the other treats brings this up to a 5.
