Affordable and quiet place. Kind staff
A good location when coming out of the Metro and in need for place to sit a bit and have a cold drink.
DISHONEST THIEVES OVERCHARGING TOURISTS ...saw a blackboard sign with Happy Hour prices of 6 euros for a long list of cocktails like Apero, Long Island, and etc. Three of us ordered 2 Aperos and 1 Long Island. This total should be 18 euros but instead the very deceiving and dishonest young server asked us for 26 euros. Luckily I can speak French so I questioned him 3 drinks at 6 euros each adds up to 18 euros. He said a Long Island is 12 euros and each Apero is 7 euros. I showed him the blackboard sign with all the drinks listed for Happy Hour at 6 euros so what is he talking about. I told him in French I refuse to pay 26 euros but I will pay 18 euros. He giggled and said okay no problem Madame, 18 euros is fine. DISHONEST AND DECEIVING ....caught red handed with wanting to pocket the extra 8 euros for himself!!!! I doubt they would over charge locals but if you are a visible minority, RUN AWAY and DO NOT have drinks or food at Cafe Le Bailly. There are quite a few other restaurants/bars beside them so go somewhere else. The server was also very sneaky because he did not show me the machine for 26 euros since he just said it verbally but when I argued back he then shows me the machine at 18 euros! I would not suggest using a credit card with them as they can put a much larger amount on being so dishonest. I will do some research and see if there is some place in Paris where I can write to in order to report them. Almost 90% of Google reviews here on this establishment all mention overcharging and dishonest practice.
A mistake: it was late and we had just arrived in Paris and wanted a quick beer close to the apartment. 7€ for a medium (33cl) and two rats camping around inside the bar, in full view of everyone - we were outside.
Do not come here!! The staff were extremely pushy, we weren't even sitting down for two minutes before they asked if we were ready to order! They rush you along and make you feel uncomfortable and scared to leave. Brought us water for the table without telling us there would be a €6 charge. Food was mediocre at best and very expensive. Paid €30 for a poke bowl and water!! Even if you're hungry, take the time and go ANYWHERE else. Do not go near the place because they have people at the front who will force you in there! They will also try and add a tip for service even though they aren't attentive at all and get snarky if you refuse to tip. (FYI: Service charge is included in the price!) It was my first time travelling abroad so please learn from my mistake. RUN DON'T WALK away from the place!
