Stopped in for a couple drinks. Thought it would be reasonable since it was a Tabac shop. It wasn't. I think we paid more for a small glass of wine and a pint of beer than anywhere else in Paris. Expensive!
The food is bland, but the waiter was overall nice. However, my daughter found a bug in her food & we were still charged for that meal. When he saw the bug, he said oh it's ok there are always little creatures coming around. Then the waiter assumed that we wanted to take the food to go. Why would we want to take food home that we just saw a bug in? We won't be back & if you decide to try, examine your food & eating utensils.
From the outside this place looks like a typical Parisian cafe. They have a nice terrace outside by the streets smells. You can better sit inside and order whatever you need.
This is a terrible effort of a cafe. Please avoid it. On 2 occasions they ripped me off. The first time I thought maybe a mistake. But he makes the prices up if you are a tourist. The worst of Paris.
My wife & I had walked around Montmartre all day and we read "The Only Street in Paris: Life on the Rue des Martyrs" so we wanted to visit this street. We picked L'Ariel to stop for a glass of wine and rest our feet and we were glad we did. We really loved the wine, the people watching and the Jack Russell terrier who seems the be the official greeter of everyone sitting outside drinking wine.
