Pasta, burgers, steaks & seafood at a simple brasserie with exposed stone walls & sidewalk tables....
Decent restaurant, nothing really stands out EXCEPT the mashed potatoes. They were so creamy and flavourful
Get the mashed potatoes. Of all the things I ate in Paris, the buttery creamy mashed potatoes is my number one. Service was also good, I would say above average for a French bistro, and the Aussie Shephard that roams the restaurant was a huge plus for me. We got the lamb shank and duck, and both agreed the lamb shank was the better of the two. Very moist and tender with excellent flavour! Though the sauce on the duck was unique and very very tasty as well, we’ve never had a grape sauce before and was very pleasantly surprised.
The food was great! We ordered the piece de boucher grillee (butcher's grill) - which happened to be beef today, french onion soup, poached egg with mushrooms and bacon(?) and a salad. The beef was cooked to a perfect medium rare as requested, the fries and salad provided were good. My personal favorite are the poached egg and mushrooms. The soft mushrooms with caramelized onions were sublime. The only thing I didn't enjoy with this place was the cigarette smoke coming in from the outside (regardless of which table), but this is largely outside the restaurant's control. One minor feedback I have is that the salt shaker has too big holes and too much comes out at once. That shaker is probably for pepper. Nevertheless, this place gets a strong recommendation!
Incredibly delicious food for a great price! I ordered the lamb shank with mashed potatoes and the meat fell right off the bone. It was absolutely delicious and the mashed potatoes were also really good. For dessert, I got the crème brûlée. It was also really delicious and with real vanilla. I paid about 25€ for everything, which is a lot cheaper than most other places. The service was also great and our server was really friendly. I would go there again, anytime!
Food was a good serving size and pretty good flavours, would’ve liked a form of sauce for steak however. Everything is fairly priced and a good variety of options. Service was friendly but slightly slow as we were in a quieter section and felt somewhat forgettable. In saying that no wait was ever major and the staff member running service was super friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone in the area to try.
