La Cantine

One of my favourite local restaurants in Paris. The atmosphere is very warm and the staff are incredibly attentive. The menu offers a wide variety of classic French dishes, and the prices are very reasonable. I didn’t particularly enjoy the steak, but overall I had a great evening and left very satisfied.

A hidden? gem in the heart of Paris. We had a couple hours to get dinner before our Eiffel Tower climb, so we stopped by La Cantine. The waiter offered us a nice seat by the window with a view of the Eiffel Tower, which was quite wonderful. The food was amazing as well - at such low prices too! Certainly would recommend and would visit again if I ever find myself back in Paris.

Came for lunch at La Cantina Lourmel, loved my food - boeuf borgignon (although my partner's steak flank was hard work even though flavourful) and for starters had leeks in vinagrette, and eggs mayonnaise - both second to none. A very tasty syrah wine (gitan 50) and delicious chocolate mousse dessert and coffee. Reasonable price all in (€61 including tip, wine, 2 courses and 1 dessert). I would happily come again. Great, busy, lunchtime atmosphere and lovely serving staff! Merci!!

The food was great, the service was nice and fast, the portions are good and the prices are great. Truly recommend. We waited like 10/15min for a table after 8pm so it was pretty nice. Ordered 2 entrees, 2 plates, and 2 deserts, plus 5€ tip and payed just under 50€. You will have a good time.

The food was PHENOMENAL. This is my first time in Paris and I didn’t want to go to any touristy spots, this place was the perfect pick. Everyone there seemed to be a local, the staff was super friendly, and the menu gave me such a great authentic French experience. I was a little nervous to be an Asian-American in such an authentic place- because I’ve heard a lot of negative stereotypes about my kind being discriminated against- but the staff was warm and welcoming, beyond what I could’ve asked for. I will be back as much as I can, and highly recommend it to anyone tourist or non-tourist!
