Hoct&loca

Had reservations on Valentines Day for brunch. We were seated and then ignored for half an hour (while the server took orders from multiple customers who came in after us). We finally just got up and left. Inexcusable.

We tried Hoct & Loca in Paris for their famous ice cream. The concept with the chocolate coating on the outside is really fun and the ice cream itself is good. That said, I personally would have preferred something a bit more sophisticated or creative on the inside to match the unique presentation. Overall, still a good experience and worth trying if you’re around.

This place has the BEST hot chocolate and chocolate fondue I've ever had. If you're from the USA ask for the white-chocolate caramel - it is simply decadent and pairs so well with the incredibly fresh fruit. The young gentleman behind the counter was so kind and helped make the experience memorable. I had to go back multiple times before leaving Paris because this was such a great.

Very standard food, I ordered the brunch menu with smoked saumon, the plate was just soso. However, the breads paired with chocolate was too dried, definitely was not freshly cooked, even I was doubting if it was the leftover by the day before. The backside of one waffle was overcooked. Moreover, the waitress so urgent to took away my plate, even though I haven’t finished it. She was touching my unfinished plate before my authorization. By the way, that plate was broken.

Amazing hot chocolate and service! Such a sweet and cozy place with strong wifi. Many choices of hot chocolate of different percentage of cacao from various countries. Highly recommend! P.S. Only one recommendation for the place: please play French music. American music does not match the ambiance of the place. - Returned to the place another day and the music was nice and relaxing. Spent over two hours working and drinking hot chocolate. Amazing experience.
