Grand Café Tortoni

26/12/2025 - came at 2pm, waited outside in the biting cold until 2:45pm and then left for another cafe nearby. In the 45mins that I waited, along with about 14 other people, not a single guest had exited the cafe nor were any new ones placed inside. There was no staff to indicate what the current waiting time was. Basic courtesy, guys, to inform waiting guests that the average wait time on the day of is xx minutes, so patrons can decide to wait or leave. Rather haughty to believe patrons should wait endlessly. There’s no dearth of exceptional coffee or great coffee experiences in Paris - I would not return to waste more time - and my money - with Grand Cafe Tortoni.

The hot chocolate was amazing! The waiter was very kind and we had a fun conversation. I would definitely recommend going there! I knew it for its hot chocolate, but apparently they also sell, among others, perfume :) there was even a line for going into the store, but if you're there only for a drink, you can skip the line and go sit at the bar.

Go for the decor, bar stools and experience. Stay to have a Madeleine and smell their scents. I have to agree with another reviewer, I've had better tasting coffee elsewhere. The bar stools are super comfortable, even for a bigger hipped lady like myself. There are purse hooks too. After my snack, I took in the scents and purchased a wonderful body oil and the orange toothpaste - most I've spent on toothpaste thus far.

Scents & sensations, this cafe romances you from the moment you walk through the doors. Old world charms and corners filled with stories, you feel transported and all of a sudden very in the moment at the same time. It may just be one of my most favourite cafes in the world. The coffee is sensational, the presentation is flawless and to have Buly scents be a part of the experience provides the perfect compliment. Just go already!!!!

My favorite hot chocolate in Paris. Yes, its a bit expensive but here you are getting very high quality and the experience and ambiance is worth it. Great style. The place is very dog friendly as well.
