My “Emile” in Paris Moment! Spent my summer vacation in Paris, my first time in France, and Emile was my favorite meal! After a long day of wandering around the amazing museums and gardens, I was making my way to my Airbnb off of the Anatole metro stop. I was super hungry and randomly walked past Emile and wandered in to grab a bite. The staff were super friendly and had really fantastic English! They were very patient and let me practice my French with them, which was very kind given my American accent is quite hard to understand. I asked for a real French cocktail and they gave me a Kir Royale, which is champagne and blackcurrent liquor. When in France, you need to try a Kir Royale, and especially with these bartenders! I also tried the Madeleine cocktail which had amaretto, cointreau, and pineapple. So creative and refreshing, especially in the Parisian summer weather! The bartenders really know their stuff and can really explain how they’ve crafted the ingredients of the cocktails! The food was also wonderful! I had never had steak tartare, but the staff encouraged me to try this French specialty. I usually order beef medium well, but after loving the tartare I think I’ll be ordering my steaks more pink! It was so good and I will definitely eat it again! I had the Thai salad with it, which was also so refreshing in the heat. The salad dressing was a perfect French take on a spicy Thai sauce. I wish I had asked to take a bottle of the salad dressing home! Emile was my favorite meal in Paris and is now one of my favorite restaurants. I asked the bartenders if they would open a location in Chicago, but it doesn’t sound like that’s going to happen, so I will need to come back to Paris very soon. I would recommend eating here to tourists, locals, anyone! So easy to get here from the museums in central Paris via the metro!
