Traditional-style bar & cafe for classic French fare, known as a location for the film "Amélie."...
I visited this iconic café where the movie Amélie were filmed and where the main character worked. It’s an interesting plac. The atmosphere is nice and the staff are friendly. We managed to get a table without any problem and didn’t have to wait. The onion soup was okay, but it could have had more bread with cheese, one small piece was not enough. The crème brûlée was good though. It was a positive experience.
This is the original cafe of the movie "Amelie". My husband really likes the movie, so I visited and ordered the Amelie set. The owner was very cheerful, so we had a fun time. It seemed like we could sing ourselves with the accompaniment of a band. They offered us a song too, but we declined, hahaha. The Amelie Set wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly delicious. It's worth visiting as an event.
Stumbled upon the cafe by chance and instantly recognised it as the location of Amelie's workplace. The cafe was quite empty when we arrived so it was easy to get a table. I definitely recommend the Creme brulle although my beef bourguignonwas nice too. Loved the throwbacks in decor to the film.
Mouss was amazing with us! Very enthusiastic, attentive, and incredibly lively. He really made the place a party. All the staff are truly great! There was a waiter who spoke Portuguese, and that was great too. Even though we speak English and French, having someone who spoke our language was fantastic. The food is good, well-priced, and you feel like you're in the movie Amélie. We loved it so much we went back the next day (we went yesterday and today), hehe. It's definitely worth it!
For any fan of any movie it is always sad to notice that the movie location is losing its atmosphere every time you come to the place. May be because the movie generation grew up and don’t believe anymore in such fairytales and young generation just don’t understands it but looks like the owner doesn’t care about the movie anymore and Amelie is slowly abandoning this place. I still love you Amelie and 4 stars to this place just because of you.
