Au Val de Loire

Yesterday, my friend and I went to this café for a drink. We felt comfortable and took our time choosing our drinks. The table was very dirty, so I waited for the waiter to clear it and bring an ashtray. An elderly, aggressive man came out from behind the bar and started yelling that we were taking too long to choose and that it was annoying him. Of course, I asked him to clean it first and bring an ashtray (he himself didn't react to the dirty table). The man yelled at us while he wiped the table. When I told him not to raise his voice, the man asked me where I was from 🤦‍♀️ Naturally, after such rudeness, my friend and I went to another café, where we were served kindly. In my opinion, aggressive and angry people shouldn't work in bars. Of course, neither I nor my friend will ever come back here.
