Our local friends brought us here, one lived in Veracruz and says this the most authentic food from that region you can get. Nice little dance performance by a girl as well, we had much fun in a group of 8.
Food was really mediocre especially given the past reviews and the price.
I recommend the place. Very good dishes. They were short in personnel hence service was slow. Concha con nata was very good so it was the chocolate
popular casual local restaurant. no tourists in sight except us. i highly rate the coffee (tap your spoon on cup for milk service), order the huevos tirados (eggs and beans omelette), gorda negra inflada con mole, and bomba con frijoles. i dont understand the ones who left bad reviews of this place - perhaps they didnt order the right dishes.
This is the best place to have breakfast in the Historic Center of Mexico City. The staff is very competent, the food is great and the venue is cozy. Local clientele is on the upscale side and there are always tourists. Portions are very generous and service is impeccable. They have a ritual for coffee and milk. No spoilers. Just order coffee with milk. They have semi-outdoor and indoor service. I prefer the latter as the street can be quite noisy.
