A lovely spot for a coffee break, and the V60 pour-over was clean and flavorful. There’s some seating available but no WiFi or outlets, so it may not be suited for long work sessions.

I had an amazing experience at Insomnia! Excellent pastries, coffee, atmosphere, and service! The staff was particularly friendly and warm! I highly recommend it, and I can't wait to come back!

It saddens me to write this review, because we had a few coffees at insomnia which were great and I thought the guy who served us was really nice. The reason for the bad review is because, after asking if I wanted to give a tip, to which I said yes, instead of giving the machine to me to pick a tip amount, say for 15-20%, he gave himself an almost 100% tip and then asked me to tap my card. We’re not talking big money overall, but I want to make clear, by leaving this review, that this greed was noticed and has a consequence. We will not be returning.

A well-designed café with a cozy interior, a solid chai, and equally great, friendly service. The newest spot in Roma Norte has a petite yet highly aesthetic layout that instantly drew me in—I fell in love with the interior right away. I ordered a chai latte with oat milk (Oatly, always a plus), paid $80 ($65 + $15 for the Oatly, average for the area), and took a seat. The first sips were delightful—the Oatly provided a nice balance, and while it leaned a tad on the sweeter side, I still thoroughly enjoyed every sip (8/10). Both baristas were incredibly friendly and attentive. Later on, I noticed the pastries being delivered, but I didn’t get the chance to try them at the time. The café itself quickly became my favorite aspect of the visit. Every square inch was thoughtfully designed, creating a space so inviting that I wanted to linger much longer. Insomnia Café is a standout among the many coffee options in CDMX, offering an aesthetically curated environment that makes it a strong contender as one of the city’s better espresso bars in terms of their overall space and atmosphere.
