Renowned churrería open 24 hours for churros & hot chocolate....
I love stopping at El Moro Churrería whenever I’m in Mexico City. The churros are always fresh, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly coated in sugar. The best part is dunking them into the thick, rich hot chocolate it’s honestly the perfect combo. It’s simple, classic, and they do it really well. Every visit feels like a must when I’m in CDMX.
There is a certain romance to hitting a city's iconic churrería at dawn. The reality at this original location, however, was a bit less cinematic. This OG shop used to run 24/7, though the hours seem more limited now. Compared to the newer outposts like the one in Roma Norte, this place felt a bit less put together that early in the morning. Around 7:30 a.m., the dining room was still closed and service was takeaway only. I ordered a batch with the full arsenal of dips. The flavor was undeniably solid, but they arrived weirdly lukewarm. A stack of pre-fried churros sat out front, which felt like a cardinal sin for a dedicated churrería. The magic relies entirely on that fresh-out-the-fryer temperature. They weren’t soggy, thankfully, but the experience felt hollow compared to the much slicker Roma Norte outpost. Sometimes, you just have to bite the bullet and brave the midday tourist crowds to get the hot, fresh product I guess.
This was my first visit and the long was long, but absolutely worth the wait! I’d heard this place was churro heaven, and wow, did they deliver! Each churro was crisp on the outside, tender inside, and packed with flavor. The “especial” hot chocolate was pure bliss, rich, smooth, and perfect for dipping. If I lived nearby, I’d be a regular in a heartbeat, but I’m so glad I managed to stop by before traveling. Definitely a highlight of my trip!.
Just a #simple taste of very good churros... "Totally different from what I ever had, crunchy and fluffy at the same time, I dont usually take chocolate, but this pairing is flawless!!! Best ones ever"... #churreriaelmoro #churros #sgfoodies #sgfitness #igymtoeatmore for the #win... Churrería El Moro makes the best churros I have ever had. We tried a few different flavors and every single one was fantastic. The chocolate dip is a must. It’s so rich and delicious you could honestly eat it on its own. I also had a Mexican hot chocolate that was perfectly made with the right amount of cinnamon and spice. This location gets extremely busy, especially during peak hours, and seating is very limited. But the line moves quickly and the staff do an amazing job keeping things flowing. The crowds alone tell you how popular it is. If you’re in Mexico City, this spot is absolutely worth the stop for a warm, fresh churro and something sweet to drink.
