Having a great stay so far in the lovely Laureles area lots of nice cafés, good security, and overall a great vibe. There’s a co-working space downstairs, but I felt the lockers could be more secure for guests; I was a bit uneasy leaving my luggage there while waiting to check in. The place feels more like a dormitory than a hotel and guests aren’t allowed to visit after 10 PM. I’ve traveled to over 100 countries, and in most hotels, visitors are usually allowed. Despite these points, it’s still a nice stay and I’m enjoying the area.
I booked the audio studio specifically for a professional voiceover job after being assured in advance that the audio quality would be broadcast-ready and that the studio had high-end equipment. While the space itself is aesthetically nice, the actual audio setup is extremely basic essentially a dry hire with a basic microphone, mixer and speakers. There is no audio engineer, no professional-grade microphones, and no high-end sound treatment. This does not justify the $65/hour rate, which has recently been increased to reflect London/New York high-end studio pricing - places where that rate would include top-tier microphones, world-class sound systems, and experienced engineers. To make matters worse: • The price was doubled within four days • When I arrived, the microphone did not work • Four members of staff scrambled to get the setup running • Despite prior confirmation that the quality would be suitable, my client has since rejected the audio due to loud hissing and background noise At the very least, this situation warrants either a full refund or a re-record on genuinely broadcast-ready equipment to justify the price point being charged. Charging $65/hour while delivering sub-standard audio is misleading and feels like an attempt to take advantage of tourists and foreigners without understanding or delivering what that rate represents internationally. Anywhere else in the world, this price would guarantee professional-grade equipment and technical expertise, neither of which were provided here. I have attempted to contact the studio to resolve this issue and have been ignored. I’ve worked in global media for over a decade and regularly record voiceovers for international clients. I have never experienced anything like this. People don’t pay studio rates for aesthetics they pay for audio quality, and unfortunately that is not what this studio delivers. Proceed with caution, especially if you are recording professional or broadcast-level work. This place is trying to look cool rather than deliver high end creative work and facilities.
it's really a pity, but the service sucks, for this price you would expect things going automatically. I need to keep on begging at reception to have my room cleaned or get fresh towels although they "claim" it 's every two days and it's already the 3rd day. Then housekeeping lies about the fact that they knocked the door and that I didn't need cleaning. That did not happen.
Really good value for money, with comfortable beds and lots of storage facilities. The whole hotel is incredibly clean and serves a good free breakfast. The team at the desk were very friendly and Sara in particular was so kind and helpful during my trip.
This was a really disappointing stay. Firstly, when we checked in there were no towels in the room and the floor was filthy, it hadn’t even been vacuumed. I requested towels from the housekeeping staff and after waiting for 20 minutes, I then had to go to reception to ask. Then, the toilet was blocked. Someone came and fixed it, but it stopped working again the next evening. We were told we needed to move all of our bags and belongings to another room for the rest of our stay as they would need to undertake major works to fix the toilet. This was at 9pm at night and my partner was severely ill so it was not ideal. In the new room, two condom packets had been left on the shelf (see picture) which is disgusting and shows that the rooms are not thoroughly cleaned. The next day, they asked us to move back to the previous room, despite the fact we had already moved our bags and settled in the new room. After a discussion, they allowed us to stay in the new room. The window in the new room was absolutely terrible and didn’t even close, so even from the 8th floor you could hear loud traffic sounds and shouting. I requested that the window was fixed and two people came to attempt to fix it, but couldn’t complete the repairs. It should have been a simple repair of the handle. Breakfast was pretty awful and I suspect it was that which made us severely ill with sickness for 2 days each. The ‘co-working’ space on the ground floor is terrible, with loud music blasting, even at 4am when nobody is there (when I started my working hours). I had to ask them to turn it down so I could take a call. The co-working space on the second floor is much better and quiet, but the power sockets on the back row of desks didn’t work. The staff also didn’t tell us about this area when we checked in, we only saw it by chance as the lift stopped on that floor. This hotel looks good on the outside, but there is no substance or quality and nothing works as it should.
