Weekday mornings are the quietest
A great casual spot for coffee, croissants, toast, or churros. Everything was very tasty and the prices were very reasonable. Emanuel was especially helpful and friendly, which made the experience even better. Definitely a nice place to stop for a quick and affordable breakfast or coffee break.
Omg I love it here. Started bringing everyone who visits me. Proper, real, old school establishment, I love the mix of ages and people. Gets proper busy and buzzy at nighttime, and so affordable which is a treat given the location. Thanks guys, never ever change xxxx
Loved the vibes, traditional, really good croquetas. The place for you if you want a crowded place with no music, just people hanging out, grabbing a bite, a drink, good time
I’m pleasantly surprised that this café, located in the heart of Madrid, isn’t overrun with tourists. I had some of the best croquetas I’ve tried in the city here. I highly recommend stopping by for a truly Spanish experience—enjoy a drink paired with a couple of delicious croquetas!
We came here at around lunch time and it was half full inside. Their English here isn't very good so be warned when trying to enter. They try their best to help you which is nice. You order at the bar and pick it up at the bar. You can sit wherever you like basically. We ordered fried croquettes, potato omelet, churros and tomato toast. The churros were our second favourite in Madrid. They weren't hot out of the frier but they were crispy and addictive. The tomato toast was a pass - nothing amazing and didn't have enough garlic. The croquettes came out piping hot. Nice and crispy. The potato omelet was also served cold but it went really well with the bread. I would imagine it was very delicious if it was hot. I would come back to try the other things on the menu as their menu is so big. They have lots of things that you could enjoy as snacks. A lot of locals come here and not a lot of tourists which is nice.
