Very nice yarn store, located centrally in Madrid. I like to take home yarn from trips abroad, and the ladies in El Gato Negro helped me wonderfully. I explained to them what type of sweater I wanted to make and they helped me pick out the type and amount of yarn. My sweater is now finished and is a nice memory of my trip to Madrid.
I visited Madrid for a weekend in May and I wanted to buy some yarn in a local yarn shop, as I love to knit and crochet my own garments and I thought it would be an original souvenir for my trip. I stumbled into the yarn shop while I was walking in the city and I found just the right cotton for a top I had in mind, it was soft and had beautiful blue and purple speckles on a white basis. The owner was also very kind with me and the fact that I don't speak Spanish was no problem at all, it's safe to say that I had a very successful visit! If I'll ever come to Madrid again, I'd love to come back there, maybe with the top I made with their yarn, and try something else from this shop🥰
Literally the paradise of knitters! I’ve found this rare but nice material called Baeza ribbon and gave it a try. The amazing results and ease to work made it one of my favorite yarns to work with.
Didn't buy any wool. Wasn't expecting it to be in skeins
To be honest, many of the yarns here are not to my taste as I like yarns with a higher percentage of natural fibres but they do have some natural fibres here and it's a really interesting experience. The yarns are sold unbranded by weight. The person behind the counter will weigh your yarn and then you pay for it at the main till.
