Our favorite jazz bar in Madrid - Carolina, Jorge and the rest of the team are wonderful hosts, with a diverse selection of jazz artists on rotation. It's super intimate and with an excellent sound system, really the perfect way to enjoy jazz music!

Comfortable old world atmosphere from tastefully appointed interior. The owner is super sweet, and brings in some of the finest jazz musicians I've seen live. My second visit to this bar and my second visit to Madrid. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy great music in an intimate spot like Café El Despertar.

Superb, intimate, old style gem of a jazz club tucked away in Lavapiés. Tonight we watched an excellent trio of musicians from Argentina. Beers cost about 3,70 euros: bargain for live music venues these days. What a treat on a Sunday night. We will return.

Excellent place if you're looking forward to listening to good music. The house has a nice ambiance and the music is cool. However the drink options are a bit limited and if you want to go out for drinks there are many better options around. Also, have dinner before because they have no food options in the menu. But, for jazz, no better options in Madrid.

Fantastic place, keeping music live. Very reasonably priced drinks (no food but lots of local food options). Very nice small stage for live music, small cover charge for the music. Staff are very friendly indeed. Please support this small but beautifully formed live music venue/ bar. Music most night, 2 minute walk from Metro station ( Anton Martin)
