Great place to eat breakfast and relax outside of the touristy areas of Madrid. Great food, prices, and people! My bf and I needed to wait for a train and they were more than happy to host us in the meantime. The lady even scolded the taxi driver to make sure he didn’t overcharge us XD. 11/10
Another delightful place to eat and drink in the Estrella neighbourhood. Breakfast before departing Madrid (sadly) and heading to Barcelona (yah!). Very pleasant interior with upbeat, but quiet music setting a positive mood. Delicious Cafe con leche. We had tosta Español to break our fast. The gentleman who served was happy to speak English or Spanish (maybe other languages too?) Chatted with some customers after they heard we were Canadian - they had traveled to Canada (southern Ontario, our home area). It was a bit cool this morning- didn't sit on the patio - maybe another time.
Café Destinos is the best cafe in Madrid. It's very cute and always worth a visit for excellent food, cake, coffee, or a drink. The owners are lovely and it's always a pleasure to chat with them. 100% authentic and recommended!
Very good! The people were very nice and one of them even spoke English which was really helpful. It was very cute and they made my friends and I feel welcome even though we are not from Spain. I got the Tico and the strawberry tea which was amazing! I’d recommend this place to anyone!
Nice, cozy, and very affordable place with excellent food, Very clean, a lovely owner couple (Carlos and Susana) will make your time there memorable; they are willing to explain in detail the food options they have and you can ask to prepare coffee as you like, more milk than cofee or viceversa, Carlos will be more han happy to tell youl the names of different Spanish cofee styles along with recomendations of what and where to eat around Madrid. I had a Spanish Omelet and a cecina empanada (goat cheese creamy filling) and a "Corto de Cafe" (more milk than cofee as Carlos explained) were delicious. They offer lactose-free or Soy milk. Highly recommended. Prices are very affordable. A complete local experience in one of the iconic Madrid neighborhoods (El Retiro).
