Casa Varona

A place mostly frequented by locals, with very friendly staff, especially the waitress that guided us for most of dinner. Following the house recommendations, we were really happy with our choices. We highly recommend this spot and will definitely come back the next time we’re in Madrid.

We had a nice dinner of tapas, cheese and charcuterie. They have a wonderful selection. The restaurant is on a quiet square. We were there in the winter so we ate inside but it must be lovely in the summer too.

Casual tapas spot. Had dinner here one night on our short Madrid stay and would say it was among our favorite meals. Seemed packed with locals when we walked in and there were three ladies attending to everyone. You check off what you want to order on a sheet and take it up to the counter but they bring your food to you. They were great, food was great. The chocolate fondant was delicious!

Awesome tapas bar with quick drink service as you order at the bar regardless. Atmosphere is great and gets popping throughout the night

A friend recommended Casa Varona. It was our last & BEST meal in Madrid 6 day visit Indoor seating only, high tables which my husband dislikes strongly. Hectic air con. Too cold for me. Lunch visit. Sweet service. You ordered using a paper list of offerings. Lots of nice wines by the glass. Lots of wines on display. Warm salad of asparagus, cherry tomatoes, Parmesan Ok but not great Spanish Omelette. Good but not good for your health ; Crispy Pork belly single portion Bottle of Rose (only on offer) excellent €20 The atmosphere at night would be great Felt it was very local, little to no tourists- my preference Good coffees.
