I prefer the old version of the Tuna Melt😭 The new one is baguette and definitely smaller and less flavourful. The old one is so much better🥹
Mistakes happen but let's not roll eyes on clients and give an apology when needed. The atmosphere is great. Generally, it's a good place to have a catch-up or briefly work with a nice cup of coffee. I experienced a rude attitude from one of the staff members. They messed up the coffee orders which happens and my friend's coffee came before mine and I wanted to pick it up as she went to get a table. When I mentioned my cappuccino hadn't been prepared the staff member told me that no, I ordered a latte (my friend's coffee) and when I explained again that there's a second coffee ordered she just went on preparing other people's orders and ignored me until a more senior staff member asked me what happened and prepared my coffee. I didn't get any apology from anyone.
I’ve been a loyal customer of this cafe for months, since the opening and live in the building above it. I love baristas and coffee is quite nice (at least best in the neighbouring area). But… Unfortunately, a recent weekend DJ event was so loud that bass vibrations travelled through the building into my apartment — items were vibrating, and the music sounded as if it was in the next room. I had to leave my own home for almost 4 hours (the length of the event). When I raised this politely on the day, my concerns were dismissed. I later followed up in writing, hoping at least for acknowledgement or an apology for how it was handled. Instead, I received a defensive response that focused on justifying the event rather than acknowledging the impact on residents — and after replying calmly and firmly, I received no response at all. What’s disappointing isn’t that events happen, but the lack of responsibility or basic care toward long-term local customers and residents when a genuine issue is raised. Silence and “we stand by it” are not the same as good community relations. I hope the business reflects on how it engages with the people who live around it, not just those attending ticketed events.
Decided to try a different coffee place from my usual indie one up the street. Overpriced Aussie breakfast and average bougie coffee in a beautifully gentrified, sunny square! The lay out makes it very conducive for studying, hence the crowd is quite young. It gets busy and there is a significantly long wait for the coffee - it's self service but they ask for tip. You're paying for the space which is a lively but not too busy open area with floor to ceiling windows. Pleasant atmosphere to sit with friends over breakfast. Would come back!
Another great coffee shop. A relatively new coffee place, located in Tobacco Docks Wapping area. Coffee at Urban Baristas is always 10/10. I got a Oat Cortado. Plenty of seating area and loads of natural light fills the area. I went on a day where it is fairly cloudy outside however the lighting was still very good inside. Atmosphere: very clean and spacious. Able to work here comfortably, good WiFi internet connection, speeds averaging at 73 Mbps. I wasn’t able to hotspot due to poor reception. I will definitely be coming back here to get my caffeine fix. Thanks Urban Baristas! ✌🏽☕️
