Weekday mornings are the quietest
It has such a good location, but after being here in multiple occasions it ranges from bad to mildly disappointing and if your lucky adequate. Your often given a paper cup even when having it in house. In terms of food its baked goods are often dry (how you get a dry banana bread is confusing) and overall bad quility (as a pastry chef I can say safely the quility isnt there for the baked goods). The sandwiches are dull unispired things. Over all the prices are way too high for whats on offer. The staff is a large rotating cast, I never see the same people. Its a busy place but I believe its due to lack of alternatives in this area. I really wish it was better and gave it lots of chances as its local to me but it wont get another.
The venue is lovely, but it’s disappointing that drinks are almost always served in paper cups, even though plenty of ceramic mugs are available are right behind the baristas at the counter. I completely understand if there are occasions when mugs run out, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here — at any time of day, I still have to request one. Part of the joy of sitting down for coffee in a charming place like this is enjoying it properly served, in a mug, with a bit of care. Of course, paper cups make sense for takeaway orders, but for sit-in customers, it really detracts from the experience.
A great place for coffee and cake, especially on a chilly wet day Very busy place, clearly popular, friendly staff decent coffee!
Friendly and dedicated staff, especially Christie and Anabelle, served us with warm smiles and genuine politeness, making us feel truly acknowledged. Despite the late afternoon crowd, service was quick. A lovely spot near the lake with a pleasant atmosphere and great coffee—perfect for a relaxing break!!
Updating my post 2025 great coffee, great service and awesome quality in every step of the process. Baristas are well trained, therefore it’s a consistently great cup of coffee every time. Great quality food! Coffee is overpriced and the mocha and hot chocolate £4.50 (ridiculous) Apart from that great location and great crushed avocado on sourdough!
