Modest restaurant with tiled floors and terrace, for traditional Turkish kebab, grill and meze menu....
So, I've been travelling since 04:30 and it's time for breakfast. A strategically positioned "Breakfast" sign next the underground exit led me to this gem. Early morning and the clientele consists of solo, well dressed & well educated men "of a certain age". This is a good sign. I had Yengen and Turkish tea. My sourdough with cheese, salami, sucuk (beef sausage), tomato and pickles fully delivered on expectations. Service was swift, efficient and friendly. If I'm passing through Great Portland Street again I shall certainly pay a return visit
The food was good, the appetiser was too small, but delicious. The coffees were great, nice size and good quality. And the main meals had nice flavour but could have used a little more seasoning. The service was the best it could be. They brought olives to mine and my friend's table, as well as complimentary homemade chilli mash. All things considered, I'd 100% go again. Even just for a coffee and a snack with friends.
On arrival, the service was great. I was given a table of my choice and the server had approached me with a menu. I asked the server if they served halal breakfast according to reviews I had read online about the place to which the server sajd that they didn't, however, they would would make it halal for me. I appreciated this a lot, especially as it was not a part of the menu. I also ordered a hot chcolate to pair with the full English. The full English costed me Β£14 and the hot chocolate was Β£4, with a service charge of Β£2 on top, coming to a total of Β£20. The full English came with one slice of regular toast cut in half, two eggs that were slightly undercooked, instead of sausages, salami was included which was a lot more salter than the rest of the dish. One hashbrown was given, however, it felt like it had been from a frozen batch of hasbrown. I was also given beans which were cold and likely heinz. The best parts of the dish were the mushrooms whi h were cooked well and the roasted tomato which helped balance the other flavours of the dish. The hot chocolate was nothing too special and on the sweeter side. Overall, the full English breakfast was not the best I've had, I have also felt that I've had full English breakfasts that were not only cheaper, but better in quality and quantity. If you do drop by, i would say avoid the full English, as their other food did appear to look good on the surface. It's not common for me to give ratings this low, however, for the price, I would not say it was worth it.
Tasty Hummus. πππ While staying in London, I was lucky enough to stumble upon this fantastic small restaurant, literally right next door to the Great Portland Street station. It was the perfect stop for dinner, and what a find it turned out to be! The star of the show, without a doubt, was the hummus. It was absolutely superbβso incredibly creamy and genuinely bursting with flavor π. I can confidently say this was the best hummus I have ever had. If you go for nothing else, you must try this dish! For the main course, I ordered the mixed grill. The meat was cooked perfectly; it was wonderfully soft, tender, and seasoned beautifully. Every component of the platter was fresh and tasty. Overall, I loved my experience, but that velvety, flavorful hummus is what truly set this restaurant apart. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!
My wife and I came here, we ordered the lamb meals. I forgot exactly what they are called, but they were really good. The meat is incredibly tender. In fact, this was probably the best lb meat I have ever had. I definitely recommend. The inside has some great ambiance too. The bathrooms are nice also.
