I ordered a ham and cheese roll and specifically asked before payment if it could be toasted. My question was ignored and I received no response. After completing the payment, I asked again and was then told that the roll could not be toasted. When I asked for an explanation and requested a refund, the supervisor/shift manager responded in an aggressive, dismissive, and confrontational manner, stating: “Did you see the price of the roll and did you see the price on the main menu?” This comment was completely irrelevant to my request and inappropriate in tone. Pricing has no connection to whether an item can be toasted, and the remark felt intended to belittle rather than resolve the issue. At the time of this interaction, the café was empty, so there was no operational pressure that could justify this behaviour. The situation arose solely because my initial question was ignored, and it was then escalated unnecessarily by the supervisor’s attitude. This level of customer service is unacceptable. I expect clear communication before payment and respectful treatment when raising a reasonable request or asking for a refund. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism shown and believe this incident warrants review and corrective action. I request that this complaint be taken seriously and that appropriate steps are taken to ensure staff communicate clearly and treat customers with basic respect.
Not only was the food expensive but it also came with a special surprise which was a rat running across the room. We seen one of the employees chasing it out of their storage rooms. There was another lady who stood traumatised as the rat ran under her table. We left instantly. A disgrace. How can u serve people food while there’s rodents running around your restaurant.
Absolutely disgraceful rude Staff, cleanliness levels of restaurant too. I paided for the soup and toastie combo but they didnt have any soup left. They made the mistake and would not give me my money back. Staff were highly rude. I am reporting this further. Never got to eat the soup and Toastie and no money refunded. This will reporting this to head office. Staff member wiped her nose with her hand and then went back to preparing food.
our food was made wrong so we had to have that fixed, then was given moldy food, complained to the man at the till, tall bald man, that i had just paid 30euro for moldy sandwiches and he got thick with me, eventually offered me a full refund so i took it and went on my way, got to my train and realised i had been charged again instead refunded. so my partner had to run back and get the refund for the food and the refund for being wrongfully charged a second time. making us nearly miss our train home. staff were ignorant and useless to begin with won't be stepping foot into another O'Briens again. Don't bother with this place.
This coffee shop is located at the train station right in the heart of Dublin. As a big fan of flat white, I can definitely tell the difference between good coffee and bad coffee. Out of all the coffee shops at the station, I always buy my coffee here. I did a little research and found out that this place offers the lowest price for my favorite coffee. And if you didn’t know, you always get a bonus treat – a Lily O’Brien’s chocolate! So, for just €3.95, you get both delicious coffee and a tasty chocolate treat.
